Bulgaria Sixth for Overseas Property

overseas property demand in bulgariaReal estate business Globaledge has published the results of what it claims is the biggest ever survey into worldwide demand for overseas property, including Bulgaria. The survey has analysed 1.4 million English searches made on the popular search engine Google and created a team to analyse the information.

Globaledge Managing Director, Ashley Rigg, claims that the survey reveals true demand for overseas property between countries.

Good News for Animals in Bulgaria

mans best friendGood news for the humane treatment of animals in Bulgaria, with the Bulgarian Agriculture Minister and the President of Four Paws signing a contract for collaboration.

The contract endeavours to ensure humane treatment of animals in the country. Four Paws Foundation is mostly known for establishing and maintaining the park for dancing bears, situated near to the town of Belitsa.

Varna Has New Shopping Centre

Park Cherno More to appear in VarnaVarna is to have the largest shopping centre in Bulgaria. The mall, named Park Cherno More (Black Sea Park) will be built by German company ECE Projektmanagement who have received the building permit. There is no date as yet fixed for when construction will start.

The complex will comprise 145,000 sq.m with parking for 1,800 vehicles and will be sited on Vladislav Varnenchik Boulevard in the Black Sea capital.

Soaring Bulgaria Property Investment

bulgarian property searches on the upThe Bulgaria property investment market has yet again been in the news. A recent research by the internet site smartnewhomes.com has revealed that those looking to buy an overseas property has increased by 45% during the three month period July to September this year, compared with the same period last year. The month of September has shown the highest increase on property searches to date.

Their analysis of visitor trafffic in the preceeding few months has shown Cyprus as the top country, closely followed by Bulgaria as an overseas property and real estate choice.

Council Tax Increase

council tax going upThe amount of "council tax" which Bulgarian property owners will have to pay is due to be increased for 2009. Parliament approved amendments to the Act for Local Taxes which will result in the tax valuation of property increasing by 50% from January next year.

The increase is due to property prices growing and the fact that tax valuations have remained so low.

Rental Yields up in Bulgaria

There has been a significant rise in demand for rental properties in Bulgaria, according to analysis produced by Address Real Estate Agency. The report shows that between January and October this year the number of property rentals has increased by 12% year on year. Address say that the main reason for the high increase is a drop in property sales because of the credit crisis and the lack of clarity as to how the market will develop.

Wine of the Year 2008

bulgarian wine of the yearSanta Sarah Privat, vintage 2006 has won the Bulgarian Wine of the Year 2008 and has also won the Best Bulgarian Red Wine title. Although Santa Sarah does not own their own vineyards, they have been creating exceptional wines for more than a decade. Only 4,300 bottles of the Santa Sarah Privat 2006 were produced.

Privat is considered the best Santa Sarah wine. Since 2004, it has been a combination of the traditional Bulgarian mavrud and cabernet sauvignon.
