BlackSeaRama Golf Course, Bulgaria

Golf lovers in Bulgaria and those going on holiday to the country to play a round, will be delighted to learn that BlackSeaRama golf course is to be officially opened on July 18. The signature designer of the Black Sea coastal course, the legendary Gary Player, will be attending, to also host a charity golf tournament. This world class standard golf course has been some years in the making and Gary Player himself has visited the site several times to check on progress at both of his signature courses near Varna - BlackSeaRama and Thracian Cliffs, within a short drive of Varna international airport.

BlackSeaRama is a 7,200 yard, par-72 course with breathtaking sea views on the Black Sea Coast, standing on an elevated plateau over the sea and provides a first-class golfing experience.

Whilst BlackSeaRama makes its official debut, the work at Thracian Cliffs golf course continues.

This is a project amounting to some 152 million dollars. Not only a signature golf course but a marina, mineral spa, boutique hotel, together with beautiful villas and apartments are being created. Player himself says of Thracian Cliffs, "It reminds me of Pebble Beach and I expect the course will be just as dramatic." As any golfer will know, the US Open is to be held at the amazing Pebble Beach, California in 2010 and even Jack Nicklaus sayed that if he had one more round to play he would choose this course. This links course in Bulgaria, one of few in the world, has the best backdrop of all the courses in the country, set against high white cliffs, hugging the coastline and unrivalled panoramas across the Black Sea.

Gary Player Design is recognised as the most successful international golf architecture firm worldwide. The company has branded more than 300 courses with the signature marque. The legend has more than 50 years experience professionally, putting him in a unique position of understanding the needs of golfers and how a development should be funded and promoted.
