As thoughts turn to spring and holidays, the Guardian reports on ten new family activity holidays and includes Bulgaria as a top tip. The paper cites a multi activity trip in the Rhodope mountains to include the thrills of rock climbing, horse riding, camping and caving.

Holidays-direct.co.uk released research which they carried out for the most popular holiday destinations online. Non euro holiday locations are showing the highest number of searches, with Egypt coming top and Bulgaria coming 9th in the top ten list. The company says that 'non euro holiday resorts gained in popularity in 2009 due to the exchange rate between euro and pound'. The report also highlighted how the all inclusive holiday continued to prove popular as a budget choice. The holiday firm Travel House backed this up adding that they too found a huge trend for all inclusive holidays, with Bulgaria being very popular.


Meanwhile, British Airways has announced flights starting from April 1, to Varna. Tickets are attractively priced for those wishing to fly from London  Gatwick during the period from April 1 to the end of May. Prices for a one way ticket are 35 euros, a return is 70 euros. Be aware that these prices do not include airport fees.

The airline also announced pricing of 99 euros one way trip from Sofia to Gatwick for online bookings.
