Increase in Tourism for Bulgaria 2010

This year Bulgaria's Black Sea resorts are catching the eye of tourists from Israel. Turkey, a popular hotspot in the past with Israeli hloidaymakers has saw thousands of hotel cancellations, making Bulgaria a possible choice for a summer vacation.

Relations with Turkeys military and Israeli special forces have saw pressure between the two countries and found tourists looking away from their normal hotspot.

This could be great news for Bulgarias tourist industry, already a favourite with Eastern Europeans, showing an increase in the first half of summer 2010 from its neighbours, Macedonia,Serbia and Russia.Normally not as well advertised as Turkey, there is still something for everybody in Bulgaria for that all important summer break.

It is worth noting that Bulgaria, a Balkan state offers other options to a sun and sea break, it borders to the north by Romania, Serbia and Macedonia to the west, Greece and Turkey to the south and the Black sea to the east. There are several mountain ranges, Stara Planina crosses most of central Bulgaria boasting magnificent scenery, Rhodopi and Rila mountains offer excellent value skiing and winter holidays. The north is a flat contrast to the rest of Bulgaria with the river Danube and thracian plains.Historical cities are scattered throughout, and traditional villages that have been restored to its finest can also capture the more adventurous tourist. So summer or winter it is still one of the best value holiday destinations in Europe.
