Crisis In Varna's Ambulance Service

As the summer approaches throughout Bulgaria,the city of Varna is facing problems amid the health system  within its emergency assistance sector - the Ambulance service.

The ambulance service has been hit hard by employees leaving through low pay and heavy workloads, and now the city is facing a crisis through a shortage of staff in this line of work. The ambulance service are one of the lowest paid jobs in the health service,with the gross monthly pay of about 600 leva and often working 12 hour night shifts.

Most who still work within the sector have not had a payrise since 2008.For the limited few in this line of work the pressure and stress can be immence in coping with the heavy workload.In particular this time of year, when the pressure is on, and difficult working conditions.
