Bulgaria, an Emerging Tourist Destination

Bulgaria is among the emerging Eastern European countries that are becoming increasingly popular with holiday makers and investors. In 2011, 150 million tourists have visited the countries Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Poland and Czech Republic, spending $100 Billion.

The reason for the interest could be down to the fact that unlike most countries in Western Europe, these countries economies have not suffered so severely from the recession. Bulgaria has proven to be even more attractive to investors than the other Eastern European countries because of its low manufacturing costs, favourable tax rates and good location.

The attractive market in Bulgaria is drawing in the interest of international companies that are interested in opening new manufacturing facilities. There is currently a high demand for logistics space, with food retail chains and pharmaceutical companies interested in investing in the region of Sofia, Bulgaria's capital.
