Apartment Prices Q3

The National Statistical Institute has released latest data showing that the price of apartments in Bulgaria increased by 3% on average during the third quarter of this year. The highest increase was in the city of Plovdiv, where price increases were recorded at 11%.

The figures from the NSI exclude new builds and cover the third quarter 2008.

 

Prices also rose in Smolyan with 10.4%, Dobrich 9%, Sofia 6.8% and Silistra 6.6%.

There was a decline registered in the Black Sea city of Varna of 0.4%. Alongside this, other downturns were experienced in Rousse, down 5.9%, Blagoevgrad 5.2% and Shoumen 7.7%.

Across the country, as an average, the data shows the average price per sq.m for an apartment is just over 700 euros. Standing at 709.12 euro for the period July to September while for the previous quarter, April to June, the average price was 688.15 euro.

In terms of price per sq.m, the highest average prices are in Sofia (1235 euro sq.m.), Varna, Bourgas, Plovdiv (827.5 euro sq.m.), Rousse and Veliko Turnovo; whilst the lowest average prices are in Karjali, Silistra and Kyustendil (751 euros sq.m).
