Value for Money Property

With experts predicting that some economies are coming out of recession and Bulgarian property at an all time price-low, perhaps now is the time to consider buying property in the country. Prices in Bulgaria have considerably reduced over this year and property experts are saying that the market is bottoming out, offering potential purchasers enviably low prices for a slice of overseas sun. Off plan has fallen completely out of favour because of potential risks, with some developers being unable to complete projects.

New build has become less attractive too, with falling prices, as buyers see the increasing number of newly built properties available on the market, creating over-supply. Twenties and thirties built properties are "two a penny", which is great for those seeking a cheap Bulgarian property but not for those wanting something special and a good potential long term increase in value.

"Traditional" seems to be the market segment which is standing the test of time, offering an original piece of Bulgaria and a more reliable bolthole for your money.

There are actually few buildings more than 200 years old in Bulgaria, less available for sale and even fewer which are protected for having architectural and historical value (listed buildings). With such a dearth of these special properties, they are highly sought after and treasured by the locals. They aren't building any more of these authentic homes, merely copies, and demand amongst foreign and local affluent Bulgarian buyers remains strong.

Quest Bulgaria takes a look what traditional property you can buy for your money. We highlight those old Bulgarian properties which we feel reflect exceptionally good value for money at the moment.
