Transport links to and from the city are excellent with the motorway direct from Sofia. Three rail and bus terminals in the city link all over Bulgaria and on to neighbouring countries. Plovdiv city itself has an efficient public transport system and also its own airport on the outskirts.

The airport is grossly under utilised with only charter flights throughout the winter season.
